That functionality would require quite a bit of UI and code changes to work on a per-role basis.
Right now it's not my intent to go into that direction with this module.
If a decent looking patch would be supplied that adds this additional workflow, then I would of course consider it. However currently I don't have the time or incentive to add this feature. So marking this one as postponed for now.
It has been more than 5 years and this feature would be greatly appreciated. Is there any predictions whether your intentions has changed towards this feature? I've just stumbled upon similar request:
Date validation (a range with min. - max. dates) should be strict for all users except for the admin who should be able to select ANY date.

Liam MorlandFrom my perspective, the answer is still the same: It's a great idea and I would welcome a well-thought-out patch. It would be complicated to do this.
