Is it possible in some way to make one forum private? - Like an admin forum for the admins to talk privately?

I've been trying to implement this too.

I guess you would have to somehow make certain vocabulary terms to be connected to the access privileges of the user.

Anyone know how to go about this?

This is possible using the node access API in 4.5, but not in 4.4 or earlier.
