Drupal + acidfree

I'm using free php hosting services for some of my websites.
I'd like to install drupal + acidfree module to obtain a homepage with gallery.
But the hoster offers me php5 with safe mode on with mysql4. My question is: Will acidfree module run under safe mode on?
Or I have to search for another hosting services?
I've tested it on a win32 with php4 with safemode on and mysql5 (xampp 1.5.3) But there is another story when running a script on unix systems....
Please help!
