There is a "proceed with the installation" button, which to me means, skip the errors and continue... which doesn't sound at all like "check for errors again"

Maybe if you hit "refresh page"?

Agreed, I think this message is confusing. Note that it used to say "try again" rather than "proceed with the installation" - not sure why it changed, but it appears to have happened via the last patch at #475596: [meta-issue] Fix the unholy abomination that is the welcome screen.

Also, "check the error messages" doesn't quite imply the fact that the messages aren't merely informational - they indicate something that you actually need to do before you can go any further.

Maybe something like:

"After fixing these errors, [proceed with the installation]"

?
