Hi,
I noticed the pattern use for directories in link_validate_url function is a string defined by double quotes (").
I think an antislash should be added before $ character, because if not this character is consired as variable and neither $ neither ' charatcers are taken into account.
Am I correct and if yes it could be a bug fix ?

It's been four years since this bug, and no one's touched it. If you need to you can re-open this ticket, but I suspect you don't need this fixed anymore.
