There is a lot of work being done on zen-6.x-2.0 for better RTL support.
I suggest including messages-rtl.css and tabs-rtl.css and maybe other -rtl.css too from zen-6.x-2.0-beta1 inside zen960

this will update the 960 framework side , but has nothing to do with the Zen part of Zen nineSixty :
