Hi everyone,

I've been getting to grips with Drupal over the last couple of weeks and am impressed by what it has to offer. I'm currently in the process of moving my website (http://www.culturerater.com) over and am using the views module to create the chart pages such as can be found here: http://www.culturerater.com/film/ . I have also set up roles for users who can moderate each section (i.e. Film, Music, etc.), which is obviously useful as I can then filter the content of the view based upon the role of the user who created it in the first place. The thing that is stumping me, however, is the fact that I don't want to have to create a different view for each section - I intend to add more and more sections to the site (and also create another site which is more complex than this one) and so don't want to have to manually create a new view for each section. So ideally I would like the same view to be used if you visit these urls: http://www.culturerater.com/charts/film/ http://www.culturerater.com/charts/games/ http://www.culturerater.com/charts/music/ http://www.culturerater.com/charts/books/ except that the last part (i.e. 'film', 'games' etc.) becomes the variable which is used by the view as a filter of sorts. Not sure if arguments are able to do this, but I know I'm going to spend hours trying to do this on my own if no one give me the benefit of their experience...

Thank you,
Theo.

Yep-- views arguments are what you want for this. See views advanced help and http://gotdrupal.com/videos/drupal-views-arguments for more info.
