I am bigner to CMS-Drupal and PHP ,
I installed drupal 6 .14 and Acquia Slate Theme ..After that I am not able to edit the fron page . also the page type "home page" is not showing in
"Home » Administer » Content management>>content type
Please guide how to edit front page from admin window .. what is the configueration

What you want to do has nothing to do with the Acquia Slate theme or any other. The question should have been posted in the forums under post installation.

If you want to actually edit how the home page looks, you will have to edit the Views>frontpage which is a default. B4 you do that, what exactly are you trying to do? Suggest you download the Drupal Cookbook at http://drupal.org/handbook/customization/tutorials/beginners-cookbook and go from there.

Hello, I have a similar issue... There has been created a frontpage with views long time ago but now I need to edit the page, I can't find the node(!!). I can view and edit "views frontpage" and I can also "View Page", I even can translate the current content with i18n views (translate interface) but, how can I edit the content???
