Greetings,

Since e-commerce package doesn't have its own email subscription capability, I wonder, what is the best solution to give users an ability to subscribe for daily/weekly emails which will inform them about new or top products, send site stories, etc.

I think I need something like simplenews.module but I'm not sure this is the best solution ... What will be your opinion ?

Thank you.

Simplenews doesnt require to be a member, anybody can enter his email to subscribe.

NOTIFY can be set by you to send at least every 1 day, or longer intervals. BUt it has to be voluntary, and the `MY Notify Settings' tab at `my account' is not that obvious, so maybe you can create a pretty BUTTON in a custom block so that users find it.

MAIL.module which worked for 4.6.8 did not work for 4.7.2 - alas, this is a very important module that enables admin to EMAIL all users or selected groups to receive emails of fresh content, regardless whether he/she uncheck the `receive email'.

Subscriptions - to get updates of CHANGES to the nodes (particular nodes) - edit, comment, addition.

Thank you.

As I understood, I need Simplenews or Mail module (I'm using Drupal 4.6.6) for my needs. And I probably will need to create my small module which will build emails with products and send them via Simplenews or Mail modules API .....

Duke, go for Drupal 4.6.8 - 4.6.6 has security vulnerability as you might have read from Drupal.org announcement (subscribe to its security newsleter)

If you are not sure how to install Drupal 4.6.8 or upgrading 4.6.6 (patching stuff), then maybe hire a Drupaller - it's worth it (for peace of mind also :)
