This is a module I've been thinking about building for a while now. The demo looks great!
I've had several ideas for how I would implement this. So I'm looking forward to a release so I can help out and make some suggestions.
Nice work!

berliner CreditAttribution: berliner commentedWhen using the github version make sure to use the modalframeapi branch. I will upload a dev release here either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
Thanks for your feedback so far.

berliner CreditAttribution: berliner commentedI added the code to cvs and created a dev release that should be available in the next 12 hours. I hope I did everything correctly, never worked with cvs before.
So now I expect a lot of bug reports ;-)

Yes, I understand that CVS was built by the dinosaurs. But it sounds like Drupal will be moving over to GIT before long.
I'm going to download this and do some testing.

joshmillerI actually described this functionality on the Drupal dev list about 3 months ago. sun pointed me to his module http://drupal.org/project/journal
I had the javascript and css to make it work on the page, but lacked the AJAX-ian FAPI ability for the very slick interface that you've made.
thank you thank you thank you!

berliner CreditAttribution: berliner commentedAh, now I found your post. Indeed, the functionality described there is quite the same. Searching for something similar some weeks ago I got inspired by http://demo.tutorialzine.com/2010/01/sticky-notes-ajax-php-jquery/demo.php and I thought that it would be nice to have something like this on Drupal.
But actually a lot of thanks goes to the Modal Frame API maintainers as their module permits a very simple approach to node generation using an ajax frontend.
Let me know if you have any ideas to increase functionality or usability.
