To make the page show up in the navigation links, enter the name of the link, otherwise leave blank.
the forgoing text appears under Link Name: in the page to edit content..
I have entered the name of the link but it doesn't show up in the navigation links.. which I assume is the block of links which includes "administer" "create content" "recent posts" etc.. am I right .. should these links show up there? if not, then where are the "navigation links" referenced in the above statement?
thanks

me too :(
I came looking in the forums to ask the same question. Bit baffled. How does this work? Please help!
Use another theme
You probably do not use a theme taht renders 'links'.
Now this might be a bit confusing: But drupal uses two types of links.
One type is the links in navigation block, but more general links appear (mostly horizontal) in another place. Those are the links that page uses.
You could try to use marvin_2k theme, it works there for sure. Probably some others that i do no know by heart have this too.
