Can any one advise how u can have both tinymce and image assist operating at same time . the image assist link line at the bottom left of the text box over writes the enable rich text link rendering it not for use when image assist module is on

Read all of the INSTALL file
Read all of the INSTALL file in the module - you want to go install the drupalimage plugin in TinyMCE first, then turn off the link that appears under the editor. Then you'll have a nice button in the TinyMCE editor, and no more conflicts.
Go down in the INSTALL file to the parts marked [optional]
