I've successfully created a Calendar View (using Sean's DrupalTherapy video) and it works great.

I've been searching around the forums for help with the mini calendar view, but not finding anything useful (and I can't seem to find the Advanced Search).

Determined to figure this out, but need help, please.

Thank you.

drupal.org does not use the core search module any more. It uses apache_solr, thus the search doesn't work as your drupal install does using core search features.

What exactly are you looking to do? As it stands, you state you are looking for help but don't actually inform readers what you are looking for help with specifically.

If I were to guess at what you are seeking in general...
calendar.module provides a block or two that can be enabled in administer -> blocks which I believe is where the calendar block view is that you are calling a mini calendar ?

I'm looking for help with creating a mini calendar view. I have the Calendar/Views Modules installed, but don't know how to create a mini calendar like the one on the home page of this drupal site: www.vocalessence.com.

Regarding the Advanced Search feature for the Drupal.com Forum, it clearly states to use Advanced Search, but there doesn't seem to be an Advanced Search, only Search. So I'm commenting on the fact that I tried to Search the After Installation Forum for help with creating a mini calendar for my Web site, but couldn't do it very well because there was no Advance Search to drill down to what I was looking for. After Searching the Forum for hours, scrolling through page after page of search results, I finally decided to just ask for help.

Sorry if the solution for a mini calendar is already posted here somewhere...again, any assistance with a mini calendar view is much appreciated.

link given does not display a site.

advanced search = ah, I see where that confusion can come from. Please link to a page with that statement on it so that I can have it changed.

Sorry, www.vocalessence.org

Link to page that refers to Advanced Search: http://drupal.org/forum (right at the top).

Thank you for any assistance!

Thank you for pointing out to me where the message for advanced search is. I've filed an issue to have it altered. If interested see: http://drupal.org/node/648182

Now back to your issue.

Out of curiosity, did you even read my comment here: http://drupal.org/node/647928#comment-2326082

Specifically where I stated:

calendar.module provides a block or two that can be enabled in administer -> blocks

Did you take the time to go to administer -> blocks and look?
You should likely do so. I'm convinced that when you do, you will find the "calendar" block which you can enable where you choose to do so.

Yes, I thoroughly studied your suggestion...but cannot find a block or two that can be enabled in the calendar.module.

If you like, I can send screen shots...again, I am grateful for your assistance.

Thank you.

but cannot find a block or two that can be enabled in the calendar.module

Based on that statement I'm not sure you are looking in the proper place. Enabled in the calendar.module? You don't enable blocks in the calendar module. You enable them in administer -> blocks.

The only reason the block would no longer exist in the administer -> blocks screen would be if you deleted the block display in your calendar view. If this is what you've done, be it on purpose or on accident. Inspect your cloned calendar view and compare it to the default calendar view that came bundled with the calendar.module and recreate the calendar block view. or Delete your cloned calendar view and reclone the default calendar view.

If that process seems complex, confusing or you made the mistake of altering the default calendar view. Disable the calendar.module, use the uninstall tab to uninstall the calendar.module and reenable to reinstall. Upon reinstallation, ensure you clone the calendar view before you make alterations. This ensures that you always have the default to look at, at a later date.

OK - I've got the calendar view as a small calendar in the right sidebar of my theme - and it looks great. The only issue I have now is that the dates which have events scheduled are underlined on the mini calendar (I like that!), but when I click on the underlined date to see the event - it just takes me to another calendar view for that day. I set it up to link directly to the event node.

When I view the calendar page via my menu link - I can see the events listed in the calendar (title), and those link directly to the event node.

So the question is: is the a way to have the underlined links in the mini calendar link directly to the event node?

Thank you again for all of your assistance!

Best I can tell you is you will have to continue to work at manipulating the view. How well your idea will work varies and may not be able to be accomplished easily because it will only work in a use case where there willl only be a single event on any given day.

My advice, is to file a support request against the module in question where the sub community of users who are more familiar with the inner workings of the module can respond.

OK - that makes good sense. I did have good success with the Calendar View regarding the Block options. Much was gained with your excellent help!
