I have been doing some patching for the module slideshare, and asked the maintainer (antoniodemarco) to include me as a co-maintainer, because I had an interest in adding several functions to the module, and it seemed like he hadn't had a lot of time to put into it. Normally I actually prefer patching, as I feel that submitting patches via the issue queue makes things more accessible for less technical Drupallers.

Antonio tried to add me as co-maintainer, couldn't, I sent an e-mail via the drupal.org contact form, which auto-replied with a link back to here.

In our private conversations, we have discussed adding upload functionality to the module (via filefield) and eventual ports to drupal 7.

In the future, I may want to work on other third party integration modules - one such module that I have some custom code for but still needs work before being contributed is for integration with the audio site radio4all.net. Slideshare, as a module, provides me a good chance to get to know one approach to third part integration that may be useful for the future.

I have tried to be both verbose and succint - however, please don't hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions or concerns.
