If you have problem with "504 gateway timeout" or very slow on /admin.. and /admin/build/modules/
maybe the causes are in your database and should be controlled the tables that have exceeded the limit.
Also, try to disable the module "Database logging", this logs and records system events to the database.

I get this exact error...
How do you find out what tables have exceeded the limit and what limit? I already have memory_limit = 768M.

+1 for turning off Database Logging. D7 on dreamhost had become unusable due to 500 and 504 errors.
Can any one seguggets some other solution?
Have disabled db log but still no luck, when I was trying to save any view or enable/disable any module I was getting 504.
Any helps would be really appreciated.

I have this problem. I disabled db logging.
I noticed that when i clear the menu cache I get the error, while when clearing other caches i dont get the message.
I now get the error when editing a content type (just the edit page), saving a view, enabling a module.
I can't find any help with this.

I have the same problem with shared hosting on random pages, I disabled all heavy modules, use cache, boost, aggregation. The website is very slow since the problem occured, the hosting provider told me i shoudl optimize the website. But i did!
