I've installed the Simplenews module and I've added it to my header block. For some reason, the email entry field is not showing, regardless of whether I'm signed in or not. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this field is not showing? Thanks guys.

Hi, you have to set the user permissions for the module and then you should be fine...
Administer > User management > Access control
simplenews module > subscribe to newsletters

leancuisine,
I've set "Subscribe to Newsletters" in permissions and this didn't help. I can now see the subscribe form, but it doesn't allow me to click the submit button; it's an unclickable radio button.
I don't have Administer > User Management > Access Control. My choices under User Management are:
-Access Rules (is this where I need to go)?
-Permission
-Roles
-User Settings
-Users
I'm using Drupal6.

sorry i missed your messages... I use the "Admin" module on the site where I tried your problem, so it may have differed in the wording because of that. But you need to find where you can allow users to subscribe. It ought to be in "permissions" if you are using the basic drupal admin area. Hope this helps...

Now I have: An email
Now I have:
An email field
Two radio buttons (subscribe and unsubscribe)
A save button
I only want to display:
An email field
A Subscribe button
What changes do I need to make? I've tried different configurations but I can't seem to get the right combination. Thanks.
I've looked at the theming
I've looked at the theming php file for this module, but I don't see where I can comment out any code etc to get the result I want. Any help?

Same here
I'd also like to edit this form but I see no way of doing so. I presume you could theme the template but I don't really know where to start. I wanted to change the button "Save" to "Submit" and I found that in simplenews.module on line 1322 $submit_text : t('Save') - however, you don't want to be editing things in module files, you want to override them in your theme (not my strongest skill).
Does anyone know how to do this?
Cheers, Garry.
Hi again, this could be
Hi again, this could be because as a registred user you can only "save" that you want to subscribe. Have you tried this when logged out? Then it ought to be an e-mail field and a send button. Providing that you have allowed anonymous users to subscribe. (Just guessing now, I haven't looked at the module recently)
