Hi, I'm able to upload files and turn them into products, make them non-shippable,etc. but the user can still download the file before they purchase it and also I can't see a way to have them pay for it and then be redirected to the file they are purchasing. I.E. song, video, etc.

Does anyone want to offer a step by step method for doing this and list what modules are needed?
I think this would be extremely useful for many of us. Or am I just missing something very obvious?

Thanks everyone.

Drupal eCommerce -module can do that, take a look at:
http://drupal.org/project/ecommerce

Depends on your needs, you can also use PayPal Subcription -module... After someone has paid, the module will update her profile that she can download the file. Take a look at:

Hope this helps

Hi after reading through the handbook it seems like when you go to add a product or turn a node into a product that in the "product type" drop-down, there would be a choice for file...does that sound right? In my dropdown, I don't have that option. I have non-shippable product, but not "file", is this where it would be, or maybe it is only available in version 4.7?

Was also reading that once the file (product) was paid for then there's a section under navigation that is "my files" and the user who bought the file is given access to the file. Again, is this only 4.7?
Because I went through the buying process and saw nothing and there is no link called "my files"

Your reply is much appreciated.

Thank you.

we had this working with paypal IPN. don't remember the steps exactly, which is why we made drupalecommerce.com. If you post back with the answer we'll write up a short tutorial.
