There is a region in the .info file called "Node bottom" but it does not appear in the template.tpl.php file anywhere that I can find, so it appears on the block page as an availble region in the drop down selector but obviously nothing shows if a block is assigned to it.

Node regions are assigned in themename_preprocess_node, which in this theme is not in template php, but rather...

/inc/template.preprocess-node.inc

Working fine for me, by default the region does not display on teasers.
