Hi,

Sorry if this revisits old ground, I couldn't find much using the search though.

I've got a site I'm migrating from DragonFly. One of things I want to do is use the multiple site stuff to support some sub-communities or affinity groups. What I find is that the multiple site stuff works well, I'm sharing everything apart from locales, blocks and the watchdog tables just by way of a test and that's letting have a sub-site in a different language, different theme and different block layout. So far, so good !

But, I'm then stuck a bit with forums. Really the whole point of the first sub site is that it has a different forum structure, I can put all the stuff I need into one container. But, then I'm struggling to see how to only present a view of that container to users on this sub-site.

I don't really want to split the whole node structure into multiple sites as I think I'll loose some flexibility there, for example, I can envisage wanting to promote news things from a sub-site to the main-site front page etc. Am I making any sense at all? !

Is it practical to split the taxonomy in some way so parts are visible to different sub-sites? Or is there a better way?
