(Firstly thanks guys for your fantastic work on the new gallery module - I now have drupal 4.7 and gallery 2.1 working together perfectly using the 7 April 2006 version of the module.)

The gallery module INSTALL.txt says that drupal_g2.css will be loaded from your drupal theme directory if it exists, however this does not appear to be happening.

It is probibly loading it from your modules/gallery folder. That's what the HTML told me on my site.
