I can't seem to find which (if any) of the players will take a field with multiple mp3 files in it, allow me to play them as a playlist and display each of the track names. Have I missed one?

I'm hunting for the same thing ;-) will post something if I find a solution.

I'm currently working on improved playlist support. The current mechanism isn't that well implemented so you don't get nice titles on players and so on. Hopefully things will improve in the next release :-)

This is possible in 6.x-3.x

It works really well in JW Player.

FlowPlayer is under development as it uses an HTML / Javascript based playlisting mechanism that i've not got fully ironed out.

That is proving a bit more tricky...

Stuart - I guess the most up to date jw player that swf tools supports is 4.6? Thanks. Would like to use version 5 if possible.

The JW4 module will work with version 5 of the actual player. Player 5 has some more advanced stuff like bitrate switching that SWF Tools doesn't yet support, but for general playback the JW4 module is happy to use the JW5 player.

Cheers Stuart - I have it working with JW5 even with custom skins using .zip method! Playlists work great with cck filefield and file field reference using imce or otherwise. Also, with getid3, my playlist items are showing the length of my videos in minutes:seconds. this is the best playlist solution i've found with contrib modules so far and I've tested just about all of them.

Glad (a) it works and (b) you like it!

There's a lot of new stuff in this release that turned out not to be too hard to do, but that enable the neat features. The ID3 tags and Views integration were probably the two most requested and that hopefully means SWF Tools can now make a pretty good job of playlists!

Stuart, is bitrate switching / bandwidth detection something you are planning on supporting with the jw player? Would be key in trying to serve up videos over 3G/slower connection speeds.

I won't implement it for the first release of 6.x-3.x as I am trying not to add any more new features right now otherwise this release will never come out, but this is on the plan of things to do!

All being well it might make the second 6.x-3.x release.
