The field label field accepts a lot of chars, which leads to theming fail! on /admin/structure/node-type/article/fields long field name = http://skitch.com/arianek/b7fe8/article-localhost.drupal7 and node view: http://skitch.com/arianek/b7fe1/testing-more-localhost.drupal7 (submitting this as an issue on field_ui.module)

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedThis problem still exists. There should be either a limit or a sane cut-off procedure. I guess the former is easier and seems to be the sane way to do it. OR: Show some description text warning to use too long labels...

yoroy CreditAttribution: yoroy commentedWould only happen when not using spaces though, so would need extremely long 'words' for this to happen. Not saying this should not be fixed, but seems really edge casey to me.
Description text with explanations are not a solution, would just be a stop gap without fixing the problem itself.

quietone CreditAttribution: quietone as a volunteer commentedTested on Drupal 9.3.x, standard install, and was not able to reproduce. I entered a label of 144 characters and it was truncated to 128 characters and wrapped. The display was fine in Seven and Olivero too.
Therefore, closing as cannot reproduce. If you are experiencing this problem reopen the issue, by setting the status to 'Active', and provide complete steps to reproduce the issue (starting from "Install Drupal core").
Thanks!
