Hi,

I've been searching around for a while now and I can't find a way to expand the top level of a book, ie in a similar manner as you can do for menus. Is this even possible?

Further more if it is possible is it possible to have different levels having different text sizes? It would be nice to have the top level being in bold and a little larger than all the sub levels (ie. like some sort of chapter heading)

Ideally I want to display the follow in a book:

-->CHAPTER 1
--> page1
--> page2
--> page3
--> CHAPTER 2
--> page1
--> page2
--> page3
--> page4
--> CHAPTER 3
--> page 1
--> etc

Cheers,

Niels

There is the block snippet http://drupal.org/node/44648 for which the author also states that placed in a page, will provide a book's entire hierarchy. This works great, although it is then not a "book" page with the other advantages (printer link, breadcrumb points to actual top level).

I wanted a solution that altered the book module's output, that kept it as the top level book page.

I also tested the php snippet in the body of the book's top level, while editing out the duplicate (closed) tree from the book module, but again this messes up the functionality somewhat.
