I would like to convert my old Mambo userbase to Drupal users. Are there any tools to help me do this.

I assume that I could just dump the old Mambo user table and import it into the Drupal user table - just importing email address and username. This would mean that users still have an account - but would need to set up a new password on the Drupal site.

Any suggestions for better ways of doing that?

Dump out the user data from your Mambo database into a CVS file, then import using the User Import module:

Passwords can be imported.
