Thinking some more about the thing I was trying to do yesterday: another solution for me would be if Custom Breadcrumbs began to handle the "Append title" variable, and I could set that on or off for each custom breadcrumb separately. (At present it's on or off for the whole site, either via theme settings or via Menu Breadcrumb.)

This is another possible feature which I still think would be good in principle but for which in my specific case I now have a workaround.
