I'm looking for a CMS for a College and Drupal looks fantatsic! The one key need they have is the ability to edit exsting content, and have a different user approve and post the content. This is because they may have a less qualified person do the actual text edits and will want a higher level administrator approve the preview before posting.

Can Drupal display pre-edit content, and have the next edit version held for approval? I don't see this mechanism? Is there a module to handle different levels of editing/publishing?

Thank you for any assistance.

I'll see if I can find it and get back.

Not sure of the outcome as far as this functionality goes

Look here http://drupal.org/forum/35

I have still not found the specific thread I was thinking of though....you may find something that helps you

There is some simple capability built in - published vs unpublished etc and some basic moderation/approval stuff. I haven't really used it myself though.

For more advanced procedures you can use the actions and workflow modules to build more complex use cases.

Hope that helps.

The Workflow module will let you set up a real editor workflow with approval etc. It is compatible with the 4.7 branch.

http://drupal.org/project/workflow

A simpler solution is to let people post to a moderation queue.

Workflow sounds perfect - but 4.7 is in beta - when is it going to be released? Are people building sites with the Beta software, and is that advisable?

Thanks!
