Cannot make a new account...(fresh install)

I just got done going through the install procedure, and I can't register. I click register, the page refreshes...I click anything, the page refreshes...

I finally got all the components installed....mysql, php4.2.2, fresh apache install (1.32.xxx) and such...the page just refreshes on me when i try to do anything....leads me to think there is an unreported error during the database acces....i'm not user yet.....i'm still working on it...hopefully someone has solved this problem before.
