I am in BC, Canada. We have a hosting package with Telus Hosting. The package supports PHP and MySQL. Has anyone got any experience on using Drupal with their hosting services? I am considering using Drupal for a site that requires a number of features.

For those more familiar with Telus Hosting - we have a Business Basic package.

Thanks,
Petre

My Experience

I'm in Vancouver, and I actually use another Vancouver hosting company ehosting.ca (http://ehosting.ca).

Drupal works fine (php + MySQL), and ehosting's customer service is excellent.

Most database administration can be done through phpAdmin. Anything that requires greater access to the database, ehosting's tech support people have always been happy to do.

I've been with them a year, and haven't had a negative experience yet.

Another Choice

If you don't want to actually administrer Drupal yourself, you may want to sign with Bryght (http://www.bryght.com/). They're a Vancouver company that actually specializes in providing Drupal CMS's to businesses. You see them around town alot, sponsoring conferences etc.

Thanks, I have heard about Bryte. But I am not the one who control which host to use. I am helping a non-profit who are using Telus, and I don't think they want to change. I am just thinking that if I am to use Drupal, I'd like to see if anyone has any experience with it.

I suppose I can convince them to change but I will have to be pretty sure that these other hosting services can provide what they need. One thing they do often is events that members have to register and pay to articipate. And I will have to set that up. They uses Moneris (e-Register/Interware). The hosting company will have to support that as well.

Does anyone has any additional suggestions?
