Hi

I use standalone FCKEditor module and there is an option to force on some textareas (by form id or url)
to show simply WYSIWYG instead default WYSIWYG.

I use it e.g. for comment (and some other) forms - where I don't need to have so much buttons as e.g. on node textarea. It is really useful feature.
I think that this feature request is close to this my feature request: http://drupal.org/node/503870

The selected input format controls which editor and which editor buttons appear. By associating the wysiwyg profiles to input formats in the desired fashion, you can achieve what you want.
