The help text under the number's Suffix field doesn't make it clear that there is no space between the number field and the suffix. In fact, the given example of (pound|pounds)
should really be ( pound| pounds)
; certainly nobody wants to see 5pounds or 1pound as the final rendered content.

I highly recommend having the suffix help text modified for new users like myself.

fietserwinCreated a similar issue #1707926: Prefix and suffix on numeric fields do not allow to add spacing for D8. (Thus yes, it is still an issue in 7.x and 8.x)
