It works wonderfully in default language. However when having more than one language (with i18n), it's translated fine but the weight order is not maintained, it taking the creation date descending or ascending settings.

Hmmm, I don't think I tested this and so the weight for the default language nodes may not be applied to their translated counterparts.

What happens if you view the 'admin/settings/faq/weight' in one of the other languages and set the order / weight? Are the translated nodes for that language then in the correct order? It's not ideal, but it might work until I can look into this further.

yes it works, but like you said, not ideal since even though we already set it once (for default language), we have to do for every language.

I've added support for this to the dev version. The only caveat is if you don't have translations for all nodes, then be sure to re-order the questions in the source language (ie. the one with all the nodes), so the untranslated nodes can be updated too.
