Hi
I want to use Drupal in a small community of trusted users, so i want to completely turn off moderation. Articles should not go to the submission queue, but directly appear wherever they belong. Is this possible without giving all users more or less full administration rights?
TIA
john

unfortunately not. the admin
unfortunately not. the admin has to enable "promote to front page".
Work around by allow user to admin
One possible work around is to allow each user to switch on the "Promote to Front Page". Try User Management / User Permissions / and turn on "administer nodes" for the "user role" that your users belong to.
Content administration / promotion
Have you overlooked:
Administration / Content / Settings
where you can select default settings for how content is handled?
Shalom!
