Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Hey,
I just thought I would start a thread where people could show what Drupal eJournals they have started. Please be sure to include what version you are using (i.e. 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, etc...). Here is Romca's journal Ikaros, and a fine journal it is!
Best Regards, and let the show-offs begin!

romca CreditAttribution: romca commentedit's not mine though ;-) Ikaros belongs to Ikaros and I happened to create ejournal and administer Ikaros' publishing system only. The real site is at: www.ikaros.cz

Can you tell us about the additional contrib modules used in setting up the Journal?
Thanks.

romca CreditAttribution: romca commentedHi Jay,
sorry, this has left my attention
for the content, I recommend using CCK
for search sql_search or apachesolr
for browsing use preferably views
it would be an interesting idea, to use biblio (that would give you export and oai-pmh interface by default,but i am not sure how much flexible biblio is)
for permissions, you can be fine using ejournalaccess
and of course, there is plethora of other drupal modules, ejournal does not dictate to you any specific settings
Sorry for the delay, better to ping me again if no answer arrives at once

roball CreditAttribution: roball commentedAny other public ejournal sites other than the (Czech-only) www.ikaros.cz out there?

gsbodine CreditAttribution: gsbodine commentedWe're putting some finishing touches on one that's slated to go public in Late June/Early July. The development version is pwd-ed at them moment, but we'll post something here when it goes up. It's an int'l journal, but it will be [mainly?] English language.

romca CreditAttribution: romca commentedI don't really maintain any list or statistics, some people write directly to me and I knew about italian, russian and english journal, but to hunt their links in the email is too much of work. The statistics (sites who actually disclose it) shows 60-70 installations at the moment, that number must be taken carefully - http://drupal.org/project/usage/ejournal
here is a link to another site i know of using ejournal: http://www.inflow.cz/

romca CreditAttribution: romca commenteda quick search: http://www.google.ch/search?q=drupal+inurl:ejournal&hl=en&lr=&client=fir...
reveals quite some sites, eg:

http://jurtek.akprind.ac.id/ejournal/term/1/_/taxonomy:term:1

georgiawebgurl CreditAttribution: georgiawebgurl commentedHi there,
I'm the editor for moonshine (listed above), but in all honesty, it's not really a good example of ejournal at this point. I'm not sure ejournal is going to work for us and it just may too robust for what we need. I considered just using books but then I wanted to create a publishing pattern. Anyhow, I'm looking to openpublish module.

romca CreditAttribution: romca commentedhi,
you can edit the theme/display-issue.tpl.php and adjust it to your liking
eg
foreach ($contents as $section => $articles) :
print $section;
foreach ($articles as $article):
print $article['html'];
<?if ($article['node']) : ?>
print theme('node', $article['node']);
<?endif; ?>
endforeach;
endforeach;
