Hello,
I just want to know, if the new version of OpenX (2.8) is also supported. Did anyone already tried it?
Thank you
Tim

jaydub CreditAttribution: jaydub commentedI tested the current version of the module with OpenX 2.8 and in a quick test everything seems to work OK. I did not try more detailed tests nor any new 2.8 features such as OpenX Market.
I've got a number of changes I've been working on for a new release but not enough time to get them completed yet but when that time comes I will be able to test more thoroughly with 2.8.
For now I would suggest trying it out yourself and if you run into trouble please post here.

Zombie777 CreditAttribution: Zombie777 commentedHello, new to drupal and openx. I have 2.8 working but am a bit uncertain about the function of the open ads module. Is there anyone who has written an article that describes drupal interaction with openx.
Any information would be appreciated.
Regards,

thank you for your work. I think I try to update OpenX next weekend and post my experience here.
Keep it up!

jaydub CreditAttribution: jaydub commented#3 the basic idea behind Openads (OpenX) module is to allow to easily add in Drupal blocks to your site which map to ad zones in OpenX. With the basic OpenX configuration and zone details added to the Openads settings page the module automatically creates blocks for the zones you've added to the settings page.
It would be a good idea to do a writeup at some point but I'm going to wait until I push out some of the changes I've been working on.

I display ads on 3 different drupal sites that use this module and so far so good.
As Jaydub mentions, I have not started utilizing any of the new 2.8 features, so I cannot attest to the advanced features, but existing features, ads, etc. worked fine.
The upgrade from 2.6 to 2.8 was fairly easy and straightforward except that I had to increase the memory_limit to 128 from 32 in my php.ini.

BenK CreditAttribution: BenK commentedHey jaydub and company,
So I've just started using the OpenX hosted option. Is the free hosted option (Open X 2.8 running on their servers) supported?
Also, how does this module differ from the Drupal module posted on their site? They say that their module was based on jaydub's original code, but I'm not clear how much it differs. You can learn more about their module here:

Thanks,
Ben

jaydub CreditAttribution: jaydub commentedThe module from OpenX appears to support the hosted option but I cannot verify. It works with the single page call javascript. It does not work with any other ad invocation methods besides Javascript. That means if you want to use XML-RPC (the fastest method), remote, IFrame, or a local openx server then you will be out of luck with their module.
That being said, I have in dev work to add in the single page call JS and some other pending work but my day job has pretty much sucked up all my available time in the short term.
If the hosted version is most important to you I suggest going with the openx version of the module for now.
