What you said would be great. I wrote to amuzulo ( http://drupal.org/user/49023 ), the maintainer of Esperanto translation ( http://drupal.org/project/eo ) but got no answer. So I guess that if you want to take the direction of the project there would be no problem. However I do hope amuzulo join us soon, because he/she might have a lot of knowledge about the current translation.

At the bottom of this page they explain the steps to migrate the translation to the l10n server:

Sorry for the late reply here. Really behind on my email. I'd be happy for Sonja to take over this project. She's very competent with Esperanto. From what I understand, someone just has to move the strings over into the localization server, right? I'll try to do a better job from now on to keep up with this.

@amuzulo: Sonjaaa doesn't have a CVS account; therefore, she cannot take over the Esperanto translation.

There is already a report in the Drupal.org webmasters queue; once Gàbor will see my request, he should create the translation group on l.d.o.
My first task will be to import the current translation files for Drupal 5, and Drupal 6.

@Sonjaaa: If you are interested, once the group will be created, I would give you the permission to approve translations.

The translation group for Esperanto has been created.

Who has the authority to approve translations? I opened an issue, but there has been no response:

I cannot log in on l.d.o, right now (I opened an issue report for that); when I am able to log in again, I will grant you the permission to approve translations suggested by other users.

On l.d.o, there are three users who can approve translations, including me.

This issue queue is not used anymore; that is why nobody replied, here.

It seems that I have an l.d.o account; it shows me logged in as simplulo. I did not create the account here, so it was probably brought over from drupal.org.

You said that there were numerous translation errors. Can these be flagged?

I assume that the other two users who can approve translations are Amuzulo (Chuck) and Sonyaa (Sonja). I don't know that either of them is currently using Drupal for a site. However, there are several major Esperanto sites running off Drupal:

Actually, neither of them approved translations, and Sonyaa doesn't even have an account on l.d.o. The user who approved translations until now are kiamlaluno (me), Island Usurper, and oczykota.
I granted you permission to approve translations made from others.

An Ubercart maintainer is an Esperantist? Interesting.
But strange that none of the main Drupalo sites are represented here. I would expect to see people from www.tejo.org, www.pasportaservo.org, and of course www.esperanto.com, e.g.

Thanks for adding me. I might try approving some translations, but I'd feel better if stronger Esperantists did this.

The more we are, the better it is.

You can contribute as well. If you don't feel yourself able to translate complete sentences, then you can translate something simpler; take in mind that sometimes you just translate single words, and that you just need to verify if the proposed translation is correct. For the used terms, there is a glossary, and the dictionary on komputero.net.
