hello, this is a must have module!
but, why the grouping is a field and not a filter ?
if it was a filter you could have it exposed (ie. the fields on which to group by) to the user
like suppose i want a page where i can count nodes based on various grouping types..
thank you anyway !

Interesting thought...

We will look into it and see if it can be rewritten like that.

Thank you much for the suggestion.

i second that.
i really need something like this just to act as a filter and not display anything.
is there another workaround to achieve that in another way?

No worries. The behavior of the module is indeed what you described, even now. Nothing is being displayed. This issue is simply about the aesthetics of where configuration goes, but has nothing to do with how the module works.

ah i see.
maybe i did some misconfuguration.
all but one of my fields where gone and another column just added up the values.
have to try it again.

Two small questions:

1) Latest version of Views (6.x-2.6) supports field grouping (when choosing "row style=fields"). How is this module different than that feature?

2) Is there anyway to make this module work with "row style=node"? Perhaps by letting it be a filter instead of a group, precisely as mentioned above?

My second question addresses the same problem as in this old issue: http://drupal.org/node/403672

The module doesn't have this functionality now. Any patches?

@marcushenningsen:

1) I've just looked on Views 2.11 and couldn't find the filed grouping you mentioned, could you please give more info on how to use it?

2) If this new functionality is implemented, it would probably work also with "row style=node".
