Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class theme in d:\htdocs\test\_cms

HI,

I am new to drupal, but it seems to be very good, hope it will grow... ;)

There seem to be some problems with themes, I get errors with:

shampoo:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class theme in d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\shampoo\shampoo.theme on line 14

d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\light_and_simple_blues\light_and_simple_blues.theme on line 12

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: polder_get_style() in d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\polder\polder.theme on line 6

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class theme in d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\smarty\smarty.theme on line 37

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class theme in d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\yaroon\yaroon.theme on line 12

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class theme in d:\htdocs\test\_cms\drupal\themes\yarooned\yarooned.theme on line 12

well, that somehaow reduces the themes... but what makes me worry more is: how can I make a theme working, if the downloads from drupal.org do not work ???

Could someone fix this or at least advice, which error they made?

please note: the themes and modules available for download at http://drupal.org/node.php?id=68 are there just for your convenience. they are automatically fetched and packaged from the cvs Contributions repository. this repository is the place where anyone interested can submit own additions to drupal. unfortunately, almost none of anyone cares much about updating their contribution to the current drupal core - thats why you get your errors.

please consider this and dont flood the forum.

to all: shouldnt there be a respective disclaimer on the download page?

by the way: there is work underway to make those automatic tarballs match the core better. see http://list.drupal.org/drupal-devel/2002-July/thread.html#9694.

regarding "Cannot redeclare class theme":

try changing "class Theme extends BaseTheme" into "class Theme_<theme_name> extends BaseTheme" in the respective file.theme, eg. "class Theme_shampoo extends BaseTheme" in shampoo.theme. this should solve this error.

(but i'm sure there will be quite some others, as drupal core quite changed since 2001-Oct-7 (last update of shampoo.theme))
