I would like to be able to extract location information from my feeds to make it available to sub-modules, and as SimplePie already supports this, we can do it easily. Please find the attached patch.
I'd like to build upon this so that we can save locations for any items, if location module is available and if locations are enabled for activity stream items.

geodaniel CreditAttribution: geodaniel commentedThis is an updated patch which also takes into account the lack of support in SimplePie for application/georss+xml content type headers (see this thread). This is needed to get it to accept feeds from Brightkite.
