In order to move your site
In order to move your site to a new server the important thing is to back-up your database, this is where most of your articles and things are stored. Then you will have to import the database to the new server.
After that if you have a copy of all of the files involved in your drupal installation if you put them into a new server. The configuration is now stored inside of the settings.php file which is located in the sites directory and usually in the default folder inside of that. The handbook entry needs to be updated.
Hope this is helpful.
