I posted this on the general discussion forum before realizing I should have done so here so please forgive duplicate postings. I'm totally new to inserting forums into websites, but would really, really like to accomplish this task. I actively participate in an online forum and found out that they were using the Drupal platform. I really like it better than most that I've used. Here's what I need to know:

1. Can the forum be accessed via my current website (i.e. via hyperlinked tab, etc.)?
2. What requirements must I found out from my website host? From what I've gathered thus far it is "Do they support Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc."
3. If my current website host provider does not, can anyone make a recommendation?

I greatly appreciate any support. I am not a programmer in any way and have never used PHP or MySQL. I have, however, worked in Access. I am a very interested computer user and website creator (noticed I didn't say developer - I cannot claim any knowledge other than knowing which button to push that will provide the application, etc.)

Thanks to everyone for their help.

Deb

Hi Deb.

It would be helpful to know which site the forum is on; having said that, Drupal supports forums, and there is an excellent module (still being developed, but perfectly usable) called Advanced Forum (see http://drupal.org/project/advanced_forum) which adds a lot of useful features.

For an introduction to Drupal and details of hosting requirements, check out http://drupal.org/getting-started.

Pete.
