Dear All
I am considering the use of drupal. I would like to know how granular drupal's access control mechanism is. For instance, can you define groups? Do these groups then give selective access to various parts of the system, e.g. news articles, calendar events owned by specific site members and editable only by them - assuming of course that the various modules and extensions enable this to happen.
Thank you for your help
Andrew

The short answer is, with contributed modules, drupal's access control can be as granular as you want it-- down to the individual user and page level.
