I am working under Drupal 4.6.3. Enabled the profiles module. It doesn't show in modules, but I assume thats' ok since it shows in settings/profiles. I created a couple of fields to check out how they work. I declared them "Public field, content shown on profile page and on member list pages" and declared them "Visible in user registration form".
Now, hen I go to user/account I get two options under edit: account settings and the category I created. Fine.
However, when I click on the category, I get nothing, zilch, nada, but the submit button. The behaviour is identical when I log in as admin with full access control or when logged as a humble user.
Oh, I also get the Submit and Delete buttons in MSIE (windows) and Firefox (mac), but only the submit button in Safari.
Clicking on submit yields 3 warnings.
I've searched the forum, and as far as I can see I've followed kosher procedures. This is probably a very simple issue but I am going nowhere with it.
I'm sure I'll get help. I'll keep working on my fields while waiting for the smart answer that will save my life (or my Sunday at least)

Now I can see my fields. I had not filled the page title.
In the process of building fields I discovered I had to unable the fckeditor.module. Using it, I didn't get pulldown menus but lines like this :
one
two
three
