I have been building a site with drupal for 3 months now and for some reason if I upload a module into the sites/all/default dir it does not show up for me to install under admin. I have cleared the cache, ran cron, and update but still nothing shows. What should I do...

Contrib modules
Contrib modules go in one of two locations:
sites/all/modules
(so that any sites in a multi-site installation can use them)sites/default/modules
(so that the default site can use them)Correct
Sorry about that mine are in: sites/default/modules/
Nothing is working...
I have added a lot of modules already and they work and I installed them but today it wont show anything in there new that I upload.
check file permissions
did any file permissions change? Did you upload them with a different user account that before?
Its fixed...
Ok I want to thank you all for your help... I just found the problem... it was a ID-10t problem:)
I was uploading the modules into the correct directory with the correct permission but... under the wrong domain on the ftp client.
Sorry for the mix up and thank you all for helping.
