Have Book menu show up in Primary Links

Does anyone know of a way to get a Book menu to show up within the Primary Links? currently I have a Primary Link to the first page of the book but as soon as you go to the book it loses the hierarchy of menu that was above it and the breadcrumbs promptly break. A new book navigation block appears but it is a separate entity entirely. Drupal.org itself seems to suffer from this problem.. Books under the Documentation tab are basically stand alone items.
