Problem/Motivation
I created an MR the other day, and the old default 1.x-dev was used, not the current 2.x-dev branch.
It would be great if the default branch on GitLab could be set to 2.x-dev and match the current release:

The Documentation link is broken. It should probably just point to the GitLab repo README, to prevent any future need for maintenance -- it will just work, since it shows the README of the latest release:

Also, perhaps the project page could be updated, to have a short text about the two versions (Version 2 and 1.7) and how (if) they differ?

the_g_bomb commentedI've updated the Documentation link so far. If/when I get increased GitLab permissions, I will update the default branch, unless others with more permissions can do it instead.

the_g_bomb commentedAlso added a note about the 8.x-1.x and 2.x versions to the project page.

ressaThank you so much for the updates and clarifying the two versions, it's great to have a working link to the documentation. Hopefully, you will get the Maintainer role before to long ...

the_g_bomb commentedI have upgraded permissions on gitlab now, and as such, I have updated the default branch.

ressaThat's great news!
And now, the branch version can be removed from the project page "Documentation" link (the previous wording was a bit convoluted, so I updated it):
