The work for D10/D11 will be done in #3361245.

I will keep the ticket open until 3.x is released so that the patch can be found more easily.

I merged this code and the code from #3361245 and #3520301 in this merge.

Please use the new alpha version of 3.x branch and give feedback in #3361245 or open a new issue.
