I have a client who wants to set up a system so that affiliates are automatically given a pre-designed web site and users who enter info on this site are credited to their "sponsor." In addition, sponsors should only be able to view information from folks who entered it via their web site, but company management should be able to view all info.

(operational example - not Drupal - at www.fggweb.com)

Is this a good solution for Drupal?

AssocTRAC is Corey Rudl's solution. It's hard to beat that.

QuickPayPro is very popular.

Plexum is being used effectively by ItsYourNet.

I know a lot of other companies doing similar things. I bet a lot of Drupal people are still working on the affiliate project, but if your client needs an answer soon...
