Create a short description (200 characters or less) that will be easily understood by the Project Browser target audience of site builders and those new to Drupal. The short description should answer the question - "what does this module do in a non-technical way".

MAINTAINERS: the short description should be added to the Summary field of the Description on the project page. The short description will be displayed on the cards in the Project Browser grid and list views.

Proposed resolution

Provides an integration with Redis, an open source, in-memory data store. This can speed up your Drupal site by serving cached items from memory rather than the database.

I liked this trimmed version! It seems clear enough and the size is correct (169 characters). IMHO this answer the question "what does this module do" in a non-technical way as far as possible. +1 for RTBC.

Maybe this could be changed to:

This module provides an integration of Drupal with Redis, an open source, in-memory data store used as a database, cache, streaming engine and message broker.

I liked #4 proposal. i think maybe we could add "making it easier to implement on projects", but it's not totally necessary, the way it's writhed is fine to me.

#4 looks good for me too.

I also believe that #4 is interesting, combining #4 with #5 we should have something like:

This module provides an integration of Drupal with Redis, an open source, in-memory data store used as a database, cache, streaming engine and message broker, facilitating its use in projects.

The only problem is that while #4 is 157 characters adding #5 to #4 would be like 192 characters, for me I vote RTBC with #4.

We could go even further:

Provides an integration with Redis, an open source, in-memory data store used as a database, cache, streaming engine and message broker.

I think there is no need to mention it is an integration of Drupal with Redis, or that the description is related to "this module".

Good point @mpaulo. Agreed.

Reviewed the options and agree that #8 is the best option. Changing Proposed Resolution to that option.

Moving to RTBC and then to the maintainer

I'm very technical and still can't explain message broker or streaming engine.

I think it needs to become less technical, and explain the benefit in simple terms:

Provides an integration with Redis, an open source, in-memory data store. This can speed up your Drupal site by serving cached items from memory rather than the database.

I like this latest version. Concise and non-technical. I often use language like this to explain caching to my clients.
