Why is this closed with no update? It would make this 1000 times more useful than something you have to do manually in the UI.

I agree - this would be extremely useful.

For example, you could automatically trigger invalidation on code deployment.

Thanks for the contribution. V2 is being retired, and v3 has been fully revamped with this feature included, so there will be no further releases for v2. Future changes should target v3.
