Hi,

I have quite a large site (www.plusgroups.org.uk) and am using usernode to setup a profile with protected content so that the user cant change certain membership information (join date, membership number). Our website is membership controlled and one of five membership secretaries are being tasked with adding the hundreds of users.

In order to be able to add the user there are several steps. Create the user account while adding a few details and roles. This triggers og mandatory groups by role to add them to certain groups based on the role. So the membership secretary opens the user account and clicks on User Profile, this is a content type configured as a usernode and this contains some cck fields for membership number.

When the membership secretary tries to save this page, unless they have the 'administer nodes' permission, the error comes back that you cannot add more nodes of this type to this user, or some such.

Administer nodes permission also seems to give users the permission to edit any content node and even edit the advanced publishing options (like take content out of the moderation queue - we're using modr8).

So, the bug report, in case it's not clear is that to use usernode you must give usernode creators the administer node permission.

thanks for reading.
